Out of focus

This is a different post for me. I don't think I've ever posted something like this in here so I hope whoever is reading this doesn't mind.
I started this blog a couple of years ago thinking it would grow into something relatively relevant. Don't get me wrong, I know I'm no Zoella, but I hoped there would be a small group of people that would want to hear what I had to say.
Almost two years later and that doesn't seem to be the case.
I love this blog and believe me, it doesn't seem to affect me most of the time that no one seems to be reading it. But there are a few times it does.
I'm not the most organized person on earth so I find it really hard to find time to post and I find that I can't commit to a blogging schedule, although I need one not to completely forget about this blog.
Last time I posted on here was two weeks ago.
Since then I've gone though some of the most difficult things in my life so far and it seems like I made it though. But everything seems to be out of focus now...
I'm so behind on Uni and I obviously haven't been able to stay up to date on the blog. I feel confused and overwhelmed and I don't always have the strength to do something about it.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this or why I decided to start writing this post but I hope whoever reads this can appreciate some honesty in the middle of so many missed posts.

Makeup Haul

Last time I did a makeup haul you really seemed to like it. That was a long time ago so I decided to gather some new products that I have bought since then and make another haul.
If you check out my last haul (you can do so here) ou will definitely have to agree with me over the fact that I have really improved the quality of my photos (and hopefully everything else) since then!

I looked for a nice bb cream for ages! I love Nivea for skincare. Let me know if you want a review!

Also something I have been wanting to get my hands on for quite some time.

This one I have to admit I didn't need at all! I have way too many foundations already haha Again, let me know if you want a review of this!

Lastly,  got these around Christmas time for two reasons: Firstly I feel like you can never have too many red lipsticks in December! And secondly because I really wanted to try out a liquid lipstick. This one is a safe bet, I got it from Primark, it was really inexpensive - 2,5€ as you can see on the photo - and it satisfied my curiosity. Again, let me know if you want me to review this, although I feel like I would need to try other liquid lipsticks before, because I have nothing to compare it to!

Don't forget to leave me a comment letting me know if you like this type of posts! Also, you might wanna follow the blog on bloglovin' so you don't forget my next posts!

February Favorites

This week I decided to make a diferent kind of post. I don't do these monthly - I've only done a monthly favories post once before, in August - but I enjoyed making it. I will do these sporadically whenever I feel like it!
These are a few of the things I've been loving this month of February.

You know how I usually never manage to list things in a particular order? Well, this time I'm definitely doing it!
I signed up for Netflix this month (I know, I know, I'm a million years late to this!) and found this show on the recommended section, and thank God! I have since grown completely obsessed with Orphan Black. I watched the first two seasons in two days and then slowed down because I don't want it to be over! haha I'll just let the facts speak for themselves on that one.
Basically the show is about a woman, Sarah, who sees another woman killing herself right in front of her. When she realizes they look the same she decides to steal her identity, only to steal her money. Then she finds out about the clones and obviously that's where the whole story begins. Please give it a watch and tweet me your thoughts!

The second thing I have been loving the most this month is this perfume from Mango. I got this for Christmas and included it on my What I Got For Christmas post, here.
Like I said on that post, this scent just takes me back to when I first got it a couple of years ago. I love putting it on and realizing how much my life has changed ever since I first started using it. Cheesy, I know!

We got this rug a couple of weeks ago at Ikea and I am in love with it! It's called Hovslund (although I think Ikea names change from country to country). It makes such a difference to change a rug it's amazing. It is a tad too big for our previous living room - which was the space I had in mind when we got it - but it ended up being perfect because we moved house at the end of the month.
The one we had before was a nightmare to vacuum and there would always be dog hairs - or even tiny pieces of dog tows that Alfie chewed onto the rug. This one however, because it's so flat it's super easy to vacuum!

Let me know in the comments what were your favorite things this month and if you want me to do more of these! Also, like I said at the beginning of this post, if you watch Orphan black don't forget to tweet me so we can fangirl together! haha

4 tips for staying organized

One of the biggest problems I've been having is time management. I am one of those people that spends so much time doing nothing that never have time for anything!
For that reason I have been looking for new ways to stay organized with my college work as well as keeping my house nice and organized! Today I have decided to share those tips with you.

1- The one minute rule. I learnt this on youtube, unfortunately I don't remember where I heard it. What I do know is that it is a great thing to keep in mind. This one is more helpful on keeping my home organized.
It basically means that if there's anything that needs to be done around the house that will take less than one minute you should do it straight away. Think about it, one minute is nothing and those one minute tasks will very quickly lead to a messy house if you don't get to them!

2- Always keep a calendar close to you. Some people prefer using their phones to write down any important tasks they need to get done but I personally prefer to physically write things down on paper. For that reason, at the beginning of every semester I print out some calendars and keep them in my college binder. I prefer organizing my life in semesters but obviously you can print out the whole year if you prefer!
Having a calendar always on reach has proven very helpful to me as I find that I'm more likely to do things after writing them down. I use printables I found on pinterest, you can find them here.

3- Reward yourself after you've done the job. This seems like a pretty straight forward one but you have no idea the amount of times I have half-finished a task and thought 'I deserve a little break now' and then end up not getting off the couch to actually finish what I was doing! I know not everyone is like me but if you are, keep in mind that no matter how convinced you are that you will only stay on the couch for 5 minutes, you most likely won't!

4- Don't try to be perfect. We've all been there... You plan on cleaning your whole house but you end up spending so much time on that little stain on the carpet that you never get around to cleaning anything else! Believe me when I say that I have done this more times than I'm comfortable admitting. You have to remind yourself that it's a full time job keeping a house spotless, so if you don't have time for a full time job, just aim to keeping it presentable! It sounds sad but it's just the truth. By doing this you are setting yourself achievable goals and that's the first step to success.

These are just some tips that have been helping me stay organized and I think they can help you too.
Do you have any more tips? What do you do to keep on top of all your work? Leave me a comment!

Oreo Cupcakes Recipe - Angel's Cookbook

This is one of those posts that I find really hard not to overflow with pictures! Not only because I'm really proud of myself for the pictures but also because I'm really proud of myself for the way these cupcakes turned out! ha ha

175g butter (+100g for the frosting)
165g sugar
3 eggs
40g cocoa powder
125g flour
1tbs baking powder
1 pack oreos (+2 for the frosting)
200g icing sugar for the frosting

For the cupcakes:
  1. Mix together the butter and the sugar until it's smooth. You could do this by hand but I prefer to use a mixer.
  2. Add your eggs and mix again.
  3. Add the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder to the batter and mix it once more.
  4. Finally, place one oreo at the bottom of every cupcake case before placing one spoon full on top.
  5. Pop them into your pre-heated oven at 180ÂșC for about 15 minutes.

For the frosting:
  1. Mix together your butter and icing sugar. This will be easier to do if the butter is at room temperature.
  2. Crumb up half a pack of oreos and add it to your butter and sugar frosting.
  3. Finally all you need to do is make sure your cakes have cooled completely before you add the frosting or it might melt! Frost the cupcakes and add one final oreo on top for decoration and you're done!

Let me know on twitter @StyleAngelBlog if you make these! And don't forget to leave me a comment if you would like me to post more recipes!
